Baseball Recap: Brown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Brown extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 12-6-1. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Waggener Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one run.

Oscar Wright was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Brown: the team is 8-1-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cullen Boles, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Waggener, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Brown: they've now lost three in a row.

On Waggener's side, Brayan Yariel made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Yariel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Brown will venture away from home to face off against Francis Parker at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waggener, they will head out to challenge Ballard at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
