Baseball Preview: Leesville Wampus Cats vs. New Iberia Yellowjackets
The Leesville Wampus Cats will host the New Iberia Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Leesville took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Jena. Considering the Wampus Cats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Logan Seavey was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Seavey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Hunter Belton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Graham Reiter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Leesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, New Iberia got the win against Westminster Christian Academy on Monday by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
