Baseball Recap: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. South Garner Titans
Southeast Raleigh had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it five. They lost 16-3 to the South Garner Titans. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Troy Scott and Yani Anwar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Scott went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while Anwar went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Anwar has launched this season.
South Garner's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On South Garner's side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Graham, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Graham a new career-high.
South Garner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Willow Spring on the 23rd. Hopefully Southeast Raleigh paid attention to the Titans' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
