Softball Recap: Clinton Maroons vs. El Paso-Gridley Titans
Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the El Paso-Gridley Titans, falling 11-5. The Maroons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Aliviyah Haynes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered 11 runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Riley Fentress made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hadley Humble, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
