Softball Game Preview: Washington-Liberty Generals vs. McLean Highlanders

Washington-Liberty is 2-8 against McLean since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Generals will host the Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. Washington-Liberty has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Washington-Liberty is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Yorktown, falling 20-9.

Celia Anbinder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Bolejack, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, McLean put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Southwestern as they made off with a 14-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Highlanders considering their two-run performance the game before.

McLean pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Washington-Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
