League recap: Lordsburg tops Anthony to extend winning streak

Lordsburg added to the longest winning streak in 2A District 3 this week by beating Anthony, 41-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Lordsburg took down the Wildcats 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

6-foot-3 quarterback Tristan Franzoy of Mesilla Valley Christian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 271. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brett Saenz. The Tularosa star has 8 catches for 147 yards.

Cobre made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,122 from 11,220. The advance stemmed from a 13-6 victory over Hot Springs last week.
