Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newcomb). They were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Thoreau Hawks on Thursday. The Skyhawks have beaten the Hawks the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hawks has come to flipping the script.

Newcomb's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Thoreau, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Coming up, Newcomb will challenge Zuni at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Skyhawks are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Thoreau, they are taking a road trip to square off against Navajo Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
