Softball Recap: Leonard Lancers vs. Lake Worth Trojans

Leonard scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lake Worth Trojans as the Leonard Lancers made off with a 29-10 victory. The win was just what Leonard needed coming off of a 16-0 defeat in their prior matchup.

Bryanna Ariza Mercedes was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Arianna Sheerer, who scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Leonard's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Lake Worth, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leonard is on the road again on Tuesday to play Jupiter at 6:00 p.m. Jupiter's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Leonard's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Worth, they will head out on the road to face off against Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
