Softball Recap: Thrall's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thrall can now relate to. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blooming Grove Lions on Friday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Miley Pokorny spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Thrall saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Engelke, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Thrall's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Blooming Grove, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Thrall beat the Lions by a score of 4-2 on Saturday.
