Football Recap: Tiftarea Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Tiftarea Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Southland Academy Raiders 56-20. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Case Jones threw for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Reed Jackson was his top target, picking up 121 receiving yards. On the ground, Caden Grier rushed for 42 yards.

Tiftarea Academy dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Southland Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

After each having a week off, Tiftarea Academy and Valwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Valiants have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Southland Academy, they will square off against Terrell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
