Baseball Recap: Santa Ynez's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Santa Ynez waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Santa Maria Saints. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted against the Saints since March 12, 2018.

Tate Minus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Santa Ynez is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Santa Ynez saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diego Pulido, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Santa Ynez pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
