Recap: Howard Huskies vs. West Laurens Raiders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest, the Howard Huskies were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against West Laurens by a score of 67-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jordan Carswell and Nasire Jones certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Carswell scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds, while Jones scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Carswell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dorian Watkins, who scored 11 points.
Howard's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for West Laurens, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard will face off against Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for West Laurens, they will head out on the road to face off against Spalding at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
