Oxford (Miss.) snapped the 14-game winning streak of
Callaway (Jackson, Miss.), with a 23-7 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Kenzie Phillips in the first quarter, the Chargers led 14-0 at the half.
Oxford saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to 10 entering the fourth.
With the win OHS extended its winning streak to 14 games. Oxford defeated Pearl 39-21 last week.
Callaway's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by
TJ Washington in the third quarter.
The Chargers went into the matchup giving up only 14.2 points per game. The seven points that the Chargers ended with were well below their average of 39.7 coming into the game.
The loss comes after Callaway defeated Clarksdale 51-7 last week.
