Volleyball Game Preview: East Palestine Bulldogs vs. Columbiana Clippers

East Palestine is 0-10 against Columbiana since September of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, East Palestine got the win against Valley Christian by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: East Palestine took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-14, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Columbiana entered their tilt with Cardinal Mooney on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Clippers have posted since August 21, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Columbiana got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 16-14.

The victory got East Palestine back to even at 8-8. As for Columbiana, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.

East Palestine suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Columbiana in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
