Baseball Preview: Twin Lakes Indians vs. Rochester Zebras

The Twin Lakes Indians will face off against the Rochester Zebras at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Twin Lakes knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Rochester likes a good challenge.

Twin Lakes' hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Western's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Indians were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Indians have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Brummett was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Carson Wagner was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Twin Lakes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Dold, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Rochester and Logansport had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Zebras took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berries on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Zebras have lost by exactly four runs.

Tanner Reinartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Twin Lakes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Rochester, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.
