Basketball Recap: Waukon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Waukon can now relate to. They came up short against the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons on Thursday, falling 70-50. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Falcons are ranked 21st).

Waukon has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. The win made it two in a row for Aplington-Parkersburg and bumps their season record up to 20-2.

Waukon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, they will take on North Fayette Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
