Basketball Recap: Emma Rodgers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainfield East over Joliet Central

Plainfield East lost against Joliet Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Plainfield East Bengals fell 53-44 to the Joliet Central Steelmen.

Plainfield East's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Rodgers, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Rodgers also posted a 57% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Khloe Oglesby, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Plainfield East's defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Joliet Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-16.

Plainfield East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-37 loss against Plainfield South on the 6th. As for Joliet Central, they have also already played their next game, a 56-51 victory against Plainfield Central on the 7th.
