Palmer Ridge barely beat Cheyenne Mountain the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Red-Tailed Hawks on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Pam Boyarko made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Corinna Arellano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Madilyn Westmoreland was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Palmer Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive games.

Palmer Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5.

Looking ahead, Palmer Ridge is taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they have already played their next matchup, a 12-2 win against Coronado on the 9th.
