Baseball Recap: Amphitheater Comes Up Short

Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-2 to the Flowing Wells Caballeros. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Amphitheater saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Estrada, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Aiden Gracia Munoz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Amphitheater's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Flowing Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11-1.

Coming up, Amphitheater will face off against Thatcher at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flowing Wells, they will take on Desert View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Caballeros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
