Softball Recap: Loudonville Wins Going Away Against Lucas

Loudonville barely beat Lucas the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redbirds blew past the Cubs 15-6 on Monday. The Redbirds haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Alesha Felix made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Wolford, who fired off three triples, three runs, and one stolen base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Jocelyn Kegley was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Loudonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Loudonville's record is now 6-14. As for Lucas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Loudonville will square off against Black River at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Redbirds surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lucas, they will face off against South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
