Middletown won the last time they faced Cloverdale and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles, posting a 46-16 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Trenton Griffith went supernova, rushing for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, while also catching one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Tyler Galamay, who rushed for 95 yards on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Middletown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverdale only rushed for 160 rushing yards.

Middletown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jon Hawkins and John Finney.

Cloverdale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carson Brown, who rushed for 128 yards and one score.

Middletown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cloverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
