Baseball Recap: Wink Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Wink made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Forsan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Buffaloes on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Cayson Cuellar made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 5-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on EAN BARRON, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. REMINGTON NEVES was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Wink kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Wink's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Forsan, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2.

Looking ahead, Wink will be playing at home against Reagan County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forsan, they will head out to face off against McCamey at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buffaloes are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
