Basketball Game Preview: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Camdenton Lakers

The Chillicothe Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Camdenton Lakers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chillicothe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Chillicothe beat Moberly 52-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Chillicothe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaishon White out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave White a new career-high in blocks (seven). Another player making a difference was Sol'Jier Allen, who posted 22 points and five boards.

Chillicothe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Camdenton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 70-65 to West Plains. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Camdenton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Chillicothe, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Everything went Chillicothe's way against Camdenton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Chillicothe made off with a 62-38 win. Does Chillicothe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Camdenton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
