Volleyball Game Preview: Hagerman Pirates vs. Murtaugh Red Devils

The Hagerman Pirates will square off against the Murtaugh Red Devils at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Hagerman made easy work of Raft River and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Addi Chizum and Payge Nyborg were among the main playmakers for Hagerman as the former had 25 digs and four assists and the latter had six digs and three aces. Chizum is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 18 games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Hagerman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 18 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Murtaugh got the win against Lighthouse Christian on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Murtaugh's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Hagerman, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.

Hagerman came out on top in a nail-biter against Murtaugh when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
