Basketball Recap: McAlester Buffaloes vs. Memorial Chargers

McAlester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 64-49 fall against the Memorial Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-49 back in January.

It was another big night for Jalil Cotton, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards for Memorial. Cotton is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Antonio Love, who went 6 for 11 to rack up 12 points.

McAlester's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

McAlester and Memorial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. McAlester (ranked 170th) will meet Pryor (ranked 351st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Memorial will challenge Coweta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 272 places (24 vs. 296).
