Volleyball Recap: Cairo-Durham Takes a Loss

If Cairo-Durham was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Rensselaer on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-11.

Ava Zeun paced Cairo-Durham's offense, picking up three kills. Zeun got some help from Gianna Lendin and her seven assists. Zeun was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cairo-Durham has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, their win ended a six-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Coming up, Cairo-Durham will head out to challenge Chatham at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, they will host Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
