Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Orem Tigers

Lone Peak is 0-3 against Orem since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Lone Peak Knights will be playing at home against the Orem Tigers at 3:30 p.m.

Sadly, Lone Peak is still looking for their first win of the season after five contests. They suffered a rough 18-5 loss at the hands of Mountain View on Wednesday.

Ruby Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Maci Koch, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Lone Peak was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. That's the most doubles they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Orem was able to grind out a solid win over Pine View on Saturday, taking the game 12-8.

Orem let Cheyanne Wells and Yeluanmy Alvarado loose on the outfield. Wells scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Alvarado scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Alvarado has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Maylett, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Lone Peak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Orem, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
