Football Recap: Chisum Takes a Loss

Chisum managed to slip by Rains the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs took a blow against the Wildcats on Friday, falling 42-6. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jabari Shields and Taisean Shields. Jabari rushed for 178 yards and three scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry while Taisean rushed for 167 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Jabari a new career-high.

Chisum's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Rains, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Chisum didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-32 loss against Lone Oak on the 26th. As for Rains, they have also already played their next game, a 29-20 win against Eustace on the 26th.
