Softball Recap: Orchard View Comes Up Short

Orchard View extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They lost 17-6 to the Montague Wildcats. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Montague, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-17. That looming 17-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Montague's part, Chloe Boutell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Boutell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Rodriguez-Perez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Montague will square off against Shelby at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orchard View will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' contest: after the Wildcats face off against the Tigers, they'll take on Orchard View again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
