Highland barely beat Gilbert the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cayden Hammond made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Cox, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Grayson Sparks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
