Softball Recap: Colbert County Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Colbert County's offense. They fell just short of the James Clemens Jets by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since March 16, 2024.

Colbert County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Gargis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Colbert County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Colbert County now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for James Clemens, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11-1.

Looking ahead, Colbert County will be playing at home against East Lawrence at 4:30 p.m. on the 31st. Colbert County is facing East Lawrence at the right time seeing as East Lawrence is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for James Clemens, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Danville on the 22nd.
