Volleyball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Takes a Loss

Carl Hayden Community entered their game against Metro Tech on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Falcons came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Monday.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 25-19.

Ruben Camarena paced Carl Hayden Community's offense, picking up six kills. Camarena got some help from Sebasti?n Zazueta and his 17 assists. Martin Cervantes and Saul Nunez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Carl Hayden Community's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Metro Tech, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Carl Hayden Community is set to challenge their familiar foe McClintock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Metro Tech will square off against rival Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
