Basketball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dunbar can now relate to. The matchup between the Dunbar Crimson Tide and the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers didn't end well, with the Dunbar Crimson Tide falling 47-28. The Crimson Tide just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Georgetown Day's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Liya Fairfax, who posted 19 points and three steals. That's the most points Fairfax has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jozi McDuffie, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Georgetown Day, their victory bumped their record up to 3-19.

Dunbar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgetown Day, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-34 win against Banneker on the 25th.
