Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Finds Playoff Glory Versus Valencia

With a playoff win on the line, Cabrillo rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 52-46 W over the Valencia Vikings. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 59-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cabrillo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kinsey Obue out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Obue has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Cabrillo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. As for Valencia, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.

Looking ahead, Cabrillo will take on Irvine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Irvine will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Cabrillo surely won't give up without a fight. Valencia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
