Basketball Recap: Wausau West Takes a Loss

Wausau West suffered their biggest defeat since January 14th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Marshfield Tigers, falling 59-39. The Warriors have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Loss or not, Wausau West got some senior leadership from Griffin Lange and Brady Phelps. Lange posted ten points and seven rebounds, while Phelps en route to 9 points. Ameer Espinoza also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Wausau West's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Marshfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Wausau West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-51 victory against Chippewa Falls on the 25th. As for Marshfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-33 win against Merrill on the 21st.
