Volleyball Recap: Westlake Thunder vs. Mountain Ridge Sentinels
Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Ridge Sentinels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 24-26, 25-19, 25-10.
Kamylle Te'o paced Westlake's offense, picking up 15 kills. Te'o got some help from Leiema Fano and her 19 assists. Finally, Ema Harris kept Westlake's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Mountain Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKynlee Miller, who had 21 assists and five digs. That's the most assists Miller has posted since back in September. Madi Ryan was another key player, getting five digs and four aces.
Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Mountain Ridge, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
