Basketball Game Preview: SkyView Academy Hawks vs. Dawson School Mustangs

The SkyView Academy Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Dawson School Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

SkyView Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lyons just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 47-37 to the Lions.

SkyView Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lydia Slocum, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Reagan Martin, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Slocum a new career-high in boards.

Meanwhile, Dawson School was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 45-44 to Estes Park.

Dawson School dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for SkyView Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.

SkyView Academy couldn't quite finish off Dawson School when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 33-31. Can SkyView Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
