Soccer Game Preview: Libertyville vs. Waukegan + How To Watch

The Libertyville Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Waukegan Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Libertyville's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Libertyville is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Warren Township on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. The result was nothing new for Libertyville as the squad haven't won a game since September 18th.

Meanwhile, Waukegan didn't have quite enough to beat Zion-Benton on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Waukegan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Zion-Benton are ranked 32nd).

Libertyville's loss dropped their record down to 2-13-1. As for Waukegan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1.

Libertyville took their win against Waukegan in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
