Basketball Game Preview: Canyon View Falcons vs. Manti Templars

The Canyon View Falcons will head out to square off against the Manti Templars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon View will be strutting in after a win while Manti will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Canyon View faced off against North Sanpete on Friday. Canyon View managed a 56-50 victory over North Sanpete. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Hawks are ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Manti came up short against Richfield on Friday and fell 50-41. The loss continues a trend for the Templars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Canyon View pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Manti, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Canyon View beat Manti 76-66 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
