Volleyball Recap: Lanier Longhorns vs. Wesleyan Wolves

Lanier lost against Wesleyan back in September of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lanier Longhorns fell 2-0 to the Wesleyan Wolves.

While Lanier was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23.

Leading Wesleyan to victory were Taylor Douglas and Ashley Cole. Douglas had 15 digs, while Cole had 12 digs. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Douglas now had ten or more in the last three games she's played.

Lanier's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Wesleyan, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-9.

Lanier will square off against Milton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats at home, meaning Lanier will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Wesleyan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss vs. Hebron Christian on the 21st.
