Softball Game Preview: Woodstock North Thunder vs. Plano Reapers

Woodstock North has gone a perfect 3-0 against Plano recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Thunder will host the Reapers at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Woodstock North is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Marengo just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 10-5 to the Indians.

Woodstock North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Stevens has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 29 runs the game before, Plano was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandwich.

Chesney Schimandle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Woodstock North's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Plano, they dropped their record down to 6-13-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Woodstock North took their victory against Plano when the teams last played on April 10th by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Reapers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
