Culpeper County's and Courtland's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Culpeper County turned on the heat in the second half with 48 points. The Culpeper County Blue Devils blew past the Courtland Cougars 74-53. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Culpeper County was led to victory by AmyAh Robinson and Kelley Hutcherson. Robinson went 12 of 26 on her way to 33 points and eight steals, while Hutcherson almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of Culpeper County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynne Wykle, who posted 14 points.

Culpeper County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

Courtland lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addison Schalkofski, who put up 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor West, who earned 11 points and five boards.

Culpeper County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Courtland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Culpeper County will head out to square off against James Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. James Monroe knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matches -- so hopefully Culpeper County likes a good challenge. As for Courtland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chancellor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chancellor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.
