Baseball Recap: Vallivue Beats Century for Their Fourth Straight Win

Vallivue had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt Century on Thursday. Vallivue put the hurt on Century with a sharp 20-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Baren Vadapalli made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Eli Daniel was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Cooper Crutcher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Vallivue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Century only posted an OBP of .263.

The win keeps Vallivue at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.0 runs this season. As for Century, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Vallivue wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Rigby on the 20th. As for Century, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-5 victory against Parma on the 21st.
