Baseball Game Preview: Unity Eagles vs. Amery Warriors

The Unity Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Amery Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Unity has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Unity is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Tuesday. They lost 11-2 to Shell Lake.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Amery was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against Ellsworth, falling 12-2.

Michael Morrissey was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Valdin Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Amery's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Unity, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Unity has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Amery struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Unity took their victory against Amery in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
