Basketball Recap: North Panola Finds Home Court Redemption Against Coahoma County

There's no place like home for North Panola, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past the Coahoma County Red Panthers with a 51-46 win on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Red Panthers on January 3rd, they had to take a 35-24 loss.

Defeat or not, Coahoma County got some senior leadership from Tamia Fields and Caitlin Hall. Fields dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards, while Hall almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Hall has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 52 times she's played.

North Panola is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Coahoma County, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 20-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the North Panola Cougars take on the Independence Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Coahoma County, they will venture away from home to face off against Rosa Fort at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
