Preview: Caney Valley Bullpups vs. Eureka Tornadoes
The Caney Valley Bullpups will head out on the road to square off against the Eureka Tornadoes on Tuesday. One thing working in Caney Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Caney Valley put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Riverfield Country Day 64-35 on the road. Given Caney Valley's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 134th in Kansas, while Riverfield Country Day is ranked 423rd in Oklahoma), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eureka posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Riley County 40-37. The victory was just what Eureka needed coming off of a 57-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Caney Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Eureka, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Caney Valley took a serious blow against Eureka when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 66-33. Can Caney Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
