Basketball Game Preview: Carver A&T Wildcats vs. Pikesville Panthers

Carver A&T hasn't had much luck against Pikesville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Carver A&T Wildcats face off against the Pikesville Panthers at 5:30 p.m.

Carver A&T is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They were dealt a 72-45 defeat at the hands of Perry Hall. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Gators are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Pikesville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Patapsco with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-45. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Pikesville's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Carver A&T, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Carver A&T was taken down by Pikesville 71-41 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Carver A&T avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
