Basketball Recap: Casen Hutfles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Onaga over Centralia

Onaga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-45 to the Centralia Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Panthers are ranked 153rd).

Onaga's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Casen Hutfles, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Keagan Venneberg was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took for 10 points.

Onaga's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Centralia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Onaga has already played their next match (against Oskaloosa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Centralia, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-78 loss against Marysville on the 8th.
