Softball Recap: West Bend East Has No Trouble Against Homestead

West Bend East had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Homestead Highlanders as they made off with a 13-7 win. The Suns not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 13-1).

As for Homestead, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly six runs.

For Homestead's part, Lola Leaman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Claire Gilbertson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Bend East is set to face off against their familiar foe Slinger at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Homestead will challenge rival Hartford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
