St. Joseph's Catholic Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 463 from 500 this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Wolves were able to move up by beating Elk County Catholic 44-12.
George School was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Cougars defeated Conrad Science 22-21 earlier in the week.
St. Joseph's Catholic Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Phillip Fenstermacker has thrown for 509 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Mike Jabco has 16 catches for 251 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when St. Joseph's Catholic Academy's Jabco goes up against Chestnut Ridge's Noah Osman.
Next week's game between Dave Carson's team and the Lions will feature a good passing match up as Fenstermacker will test his arm against Osman's defensive ability.
The Wolves are in third place, while Chestnut Ridge is in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when St. Joseph's Catholic Academy and Max Shoemaker's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Wolves comes in having scored 131 this season, while the Lions have scored 65. St. Joseph's Catholic Academy scored 44 points last week as it bested the Crusaders.
The Wolves took down Elk County Catholic 44-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Fenstermacker threw for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
